Chapter 7 - Side story of Kazumi

At first I am the kind of person who love to associate in society. I love being with my friends talking to them.

"Ah. Kazumi. You are here."

"... Sempai, what's wrong you are sweating."

"Sorry.. I forgot to tell you about the meeting for tomorrow." "Meeting..?"

He is my sempai named Atsushi and we are in the same club. He always inform me every details about the club activities if I dont attend. He is always taking good care of me. And he looks like a big brother to me.

"Kazumi..." Hizumi poking his back.

"What?"

"Teach me here in my math subject."

"Later after I'm done with my homework.."

"Eh??? Do it faster!!"

"You are so cunning Hizumi."

My twin little brother Hizumi, we are twins but we are in different class.

"Ne.. Its about your sempai..." Hizumi poking Kazumi's face.

"What about my sempai? And stop poking face I cant concentrate in my homework."

"Isn't that guy always tagging along with you always?"

"Huh? Why you asked?"

"Well, he seems acting weird when he always saw you." Hizumi keep on poking in Kazumi's face.

"Its just your imagination. Plus stop poking my face I said or else I wont teach you in your homework."

Hizumi just looking at me everytime. Always worrying about me.

This is my everyday life when I am with my brother Hizumi.

As my every day life I always attend my subjects everyday and club sometimes.

I am getting along with my classmates, friends and with my club members specially with Atsushi-sempai.

But a months ago..

"Is Kazumi didn't attend the club again?" Atsushi asked the club members.

"Yeah. He skipped again."

"Where that guy went?"

I dont have any idea that sempai is looking for me. He knew that where I can find. He found me in the rooftop sitting there. I was surprised that he came.

"Sempai? What's wrong?" I asked him.

"... You skipped the club again."

"Ah.. Sorry. I am not feeling well."

"Are you sick?" he went close with Kazumi and he used his head to look for the body temperature of Kazumi in the forehead.

I just close my eyes and I feel sempai's breathing. He suddenly pushed me and I saw his face are all red. I didn't noticed that he was looking at me while I closed my eyes.

"Sempai..?"

"... S-Sorry. You have a sick. Did you tell this to your brother?" he is still blushing.

"No. He will just worried too much if I tell about it."

I saw sempai looking at me. I was curious but he is looking at me with lust.

"Sempai... Are you alright? You look red."

"Eh??? I am ok." he keep on looking at Kazumi and he gulp.

I am curious about sempai's action. He keep looking at me in red face and I thought my fever suddenly passed to him.

He went close to me.

"K-Kazumi! Go out with me!" he confessed to Kazumi.

"... Huh? But isn't that we are going out already everyday?"

"Thats not what I mean... I mean.. Is to go out with me as my l-lover.." Atsushi's face are all red.

I become speechless after hearing it. I was shocked and dont know what to answer.

"Its fine.. You can answer me anytime. Just think for it first."

"Sempai.. Are you serious?"

"Eh..? I am serious."

"If then.. Its ok for me to go out with you...?"

I saw his happy face after saying those words.

I saw sempai's face all red. I never thought that sempai has a feeling for me since then. I started going out with him and he tells me everything about when he started liking me.

I like sempai too.. If not I wont go out to him. I am happy to be with him.

Hizumi noticed already about our relationship and he just keeps silent about it. I trust him for being silent.

Five months have passed and I am still going out with my sempai. We already done doing about sex stuffs. The last time we do it sempai is not in the mood.

Few days passed. Sempai called me in the rooftop. I dont have an idea that someone is following me until I reached the rooftop.

"Sempai you called me here? Is there something wrong?" Kazumi asked him.

"I need to talk to you."

I saw sempai with a serious face.

"Kazumi. Lets break up."

I was shocked after hearing those words. I just make a fake smile after hearing it.

"W-What do you mean about that sempai? Are you joking right?" Kazumi clenched his hands.

"Im not. I want you to break up with me."

"But why?!"

"Why...? .... I have a girlfriend and she is pregnant."

I was shocked. It was hurt. My tears suddenly fall.

"G-Girlfriend..? But you said that you loved me sempai.. And when did you have a girlfriend?"

"Since before... I confessed to you."

"... So you are just playing with me since before..?"

Sempai wont look at me. I keep on crying and cant see his face properly.

"Sempai.. You said you love me.. But why?"

I keep on asking him many times. My tears wont stop.

"I-I was just being seduced by you! Thats why.. Plus.. I want a family I want a kid.." he clenched his both hands.

I just clenched my hands. I am so stupid for loving him. I run and my tears wont stop. I dont know what face that sempai making right now.

While I am running in the hallway Hizumi saw me he called me but I ignore him and keep on running. He followed me and keep on calling my name. Hizumi grab my hand.

"Kazumi.. What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Hizumi is worried about Kazumi.

I look at Hizumi. I hug him and cried at him. Hizumi just hug me back. People in the school looking to us.

I skipped school the next day. Only Hizumi who went in the school to attend the class. I keep staying on my room and keep on thinking about what my sempai said to me.

When Hizumi got home..

"Kazumi.. You and your sempai.." Hizumi suddenly stop.

"Please dont asked.."

Hizumi seems he wants something to say to me.

Hizumi keep worrying about me. He wont tell a word about it again and he keeps talking to me in a joke way. I am depressed and I Hizumi always look at me in worried face every time I dont react in his jokes.

Two days later, I attend school again.

Sempai passed by and I act that I dont know him. I heard people gossiping about me.

"Did you heard? That Kazumi seduced his sempai?"

"Really?"

"Yeah and they just broke up few days ago.."

I want to cry. I dont know who was the one who make that gossips that I am the one who seduced sempai. That rumors leaked inside the school. Because of that rumors. All my friends, classmates and club members keep avoiding me.

Because of that rumors.. I always skipped class after that. I always want to be alone in my room and Hizumi keeps worrying about me.

I once decided to kill myself but Hizumi stop me.

"What are you doing... Kazumi!" Hizumi is crying while hugging Kazumi.

I keep on crying. I feel Hizumi hugging me thight.

"Dont kill yourself just because of that.. Please I'm begging you."

I feel uneasy. That time if Hizumi didn't stop me..

After that day happened I keep on attending the class. I decided to be alone. I endure every gossips and bad mouthing about me in that school until we are graduate.

After the graduation ceremony I saw sempai and he went towards me.

"... Kazumi. I-"

I left him without saying a words. I dont know what face he make when I left him.

I decided not to tag along again to others because I will just hurt myself.

I keep that words in my mind until I enter university.

I have a quiet life now. I decided to live alone by myself and Hizumi sometimes visit me in my apartment. I took part time job for my daily expenses and start with my university.

But my life suddenly changed when I meet Tatsuya Shino...

Chapter 6

Both Kazumi and Shino went inside the apartment. Kazumi serve him a coffee and sit in the sofa.

"Kazumi.." Shino is worried about him.
"When I was in high shool.."

Kazumi paused suddenly and he hide his face to Shino. Shino looked at him.

"... I am straight but one of my club sempai confessed to me.. At first I want to dump him but when I saw his determination, I accepted his feelings. I am happy to be with him. But.. He broke up with me.. I thought he love me but he tell me that his girlfriend is pregnant. I dont have any idea that he has a girlfriend. I was shocked when I heard about it.."

「"...But.. Sempai you said you love me.. And-" Kazumi is crying.
"I'm sorry.. The truth is.. I was captivated to you and even I know I have a girlfriend I confessed to you. Plus I want a kid."」

"I cant stop crying that time. I dont want him to leave me. But I cant do anything.. I cant gave him what he wants. Because of betrayal I ended up hating people and cant trust anyone.. But you came to my life and you change me." Kazumi is crying.

Shino look at him. He went closed to Kazumi and hug him. Kazumi was surprised.

"I like you Kazumi. Not being a friend but a lover. I promised you not to hurt you." Shino was serious in what he say.

Kazumi look at him and blushing. Shino touch his face and he kisses Kazumi. Kazumi was shocked and feel his kissed.

"Kazumi. I love you.. What will be your answer?" Shino is blushing while confessing his feelings.

Kazumi hug him and reply to him.

"I love you too.."

Hizumi is on the near cafeteria. He keep on sighing, looking outside and spacing out and girls are blushing while looking at him.

"Look isn't that guy is cool?"
"Yeah.. Yeah.. Let's ask him.."

The girls went close to Hizumi.

"... Um, excuse me.."

Hizumi look at them.

"Yes what can I do?"

The girls keep on blushing and they keep on whispering.

"Kyaaa! He looks like a host!"

Hizumi just look at them and sigh.

"Young girls right now are kinda.."

He left the cafeteria.

"Huh? Its morning.." Shino look in his window.

Shino woke up early and he ate breakfast and leave the apartment.

"I must asked Kazumi about the truth." Shino said while walking.

Shino went to Kazumi's apartment. He saw Hizumi leaving the apartment.

"... H-Hizu-"
"What?"Hizumi looked straight to Shino.

Shino shocked when he saw Hizumi looking straight at him.

"Really, Kazumi is different from him." Shino said to himself.
"Uhm.. Morning." Shino greet him.
"Morning."
"... Is Kazumi is there?"
"Kazumi is not here."

Shino looked at Hizumi.

"Where did he go?"
"I dunno.. I'm leaving now."
"Wait!" Shino grab the right hand of Hizumi.
"What?"
"I want to talk to Kazumi.."

Hizumi pull out his arms and look straight to Shino.

"Please. If you dont want Kazumi to be pressure about this.. Just leave him be."

Shino was shocked in what he said.

"... Kazumi is my friend! How can I leave him like that!? Plus-"
"Kazumi like you! How can he treat you being only his friend!?"

Shino surprised when Hizumi raised his voice. He become speechless.

Kazumi hear Hizumi's voice.

"Please leave." Hizumi said in serious face.

Kazumi open the door and he saw Hizumi talking to someone.

"Hizu-"

Kazumi suddenly stop and shocked when he saw Shino talking to Hizumi.

"...him.." Shino whispered.
"What?"
"I LIKE KAZUMI! And I just realized it.."

Kazumi was shocked in what he heard. The door suddenly close and both of them was surprised and they saw him.

"K-Kazumi.." Shino was surprised.
"...What are you doing here Shino?" Kazumi is blushing.
"I want to talk to-"
"Kazumi I told you not to go outside." Hizumi went close to Kazumi.

Shino clench his hand.

"You said Kazumi is not here!"

Hizumi become speechless. Kazumi just look to both of them and confused.

"Kazumi.. I want to talk to you."
"... Talk about what?"
"About the truth. I want to know the truth about what happened in your past."

Kazumi was shocked in what Shino said. Kazumi look to his little brother.

"Hizumi.. What did you tell to him?"

Hizumi cant look to Kazumi. He avoid his eyes to him.

"...Hizumi.." he look to his brother that he is about to cry.
".. Kazumi.. About this-"
"Hizumi tell me about what happened to you in your past." Shino interrupt.
"Is that true Hizumi?"

Hizumi cant look to his eyes. He just clench his hand.

"I told you not to tell about it, right!" Kazumi shout.

Hizumi shocked when he saw Kazumi crying.

"K-Kazumi.. I-"
"Kazumi. Its not Hizumi's fault. I beg him to tell me the truth." Shino makes a serious face.

Hizumi was surprised and he look to Shino.

"I want to know..the truth. So please.." Shino is begging for him.

Kazumi wiped his tears.

"Hizumi.. I will talk to him."

Hizumi look at him and apologized. He left both of them. He passed by Shino and whispered.

"I dont want to see Nii-san crying.."

Shino turn around and look at Hizumi's back. He saw Hizumi's gentle back of him and he smiled.

"What are you doing here Shino?" Kazumi asked him.
"I must be the one who will asked! Why do you suddenly quit the university?!"

Kazumi shocked in what Shino said.

"How did you.."
"I heard it from our classmates."

Kazumi became speechless.

"Kazumi, answer me!"
"... I dont have the reason.."
"... You.."

Shino grab Kazumi's clothes and he was surprised.

".. Its that you dont want me-"
"That's enough.." this guy pull apart them.

Kazumi passed and went inside in his apartment and he locked it.

"Kazumi-"

This guy just look at them, suddenly his phone ring.

"A mail..?"

He read the mail and he look at Shino.

"Kazumi mail me.. I am going to come along with you for awhile.."
".. Mail? ... Okay."

They went in the cafe shop near in the apartment of Kazumi.

"Who are you?" Shino asked.
"... I'm Kazumi's twins younger brother, Hizumi."
"Eh?? Twin brother?"

Shino was shocked. He didn't know that Kazumi has a twin brother.

"Kazumi.. Didn't tell me about this.."
"Yeah. He wont. He dont like telling anything about himself."

Shino just look at him.

"He really look a like.." he utter to himself.
"What do you mean, he dont like talking about himself?" Shino added.
"Maybe you know already that he is the type who dont like to deal other people.. I am different from him."
"... I know.. You know why he quit university?"
"I know.."
"... Please let me know the reason why.." Shino look seriously to Hizumi.

Hizumi look straight to Shino.
"I guess it cant be helped.." Hizumi sigh.

Hizumi explain everything.

After talking to Shino, Hizumi came back to Kazumi's apartment. While Shino near in there house.

"Are you sure about this? Quitting university.." Hizumi asked Kazumi.
"Yeah.. I dont want him to be involved.. And.. I dont want to happen the same thing that time.." Kazumi lying in his bed hugging his pillow.

Hizumi look to his brother with a lonely face.

When Shino came back he went straigh in his room. He thinks about Hizumi said to him.

「"You want to know why he quit?"
"Yes."
"Kazumi quit university.. The reason is he dont want you to be involved."
"Involved? In what?"
"... Hmm, how should I start? When we are still in high school.. We are in different class.. Kazumi was betrayed by his past relationship.. His past relationship is a guy. Kazumi is straight at first. But this club sempai of him confess to him. He agree to go out to his sempai.. But few months later, his sempai broke to him.. Its because his sempai really has a girlfriend. He was shocked in what happened. And that girlfriend is pregnant. He thought that his sempai really love him but.."

"I want to have a family.." Kazumi's sempai said.

"... Kazumi was shocked.. He know by himself that he cant gave birth. He is the one only in love in both of them. Because of that he came to hate people around him and dont want to associate to others.. And the reason of it is he dont want you to be involved because he started to like you" Hizumi added.

Shino was shocked in what he heard.

".. What do you mean he like me? And its different from what I heard.." Shino said while blushing
"Heard what?"
"... That.. Kazumi seduced that..sempai.."
"So do you believe that rumors?" Hizumi sigh.

Shino became speechless.

"... Its up to you which do you believe." Hizumi stand.

Shino became confused.

"I guess I leave now.." Hizumi left.」

"Who should I believe...?" Shino lying in his bed, cover his eyes with his right arm.

Shino is speechless in what he heard from his friend.. He look at Kazumi and went back.

"Welcome back.." Kazumi said.
"... Ah."

Shino cant look in his eyes.. Kazumi just look at him.

When the class ended. Kazumi asked Shino.

"Did you have an appointment today?"
"Nothing."
"Then can we go home together?"

Shino look at him and Hiro suddenly came.

"Shino.. Going home now?"
"Ah."
"Want to join us? We will go today at the karaoke."
"Sure.."

Kazumi just look at them.

"... Then I guess I'll leave first." Kazumi excuse himself.

Shino just look at him.

"Lets go Shino."

Shino and his friends left already. While Kazumi is on his way home.

Shino's group reached the karaoke box. Kazumi stop in the middle of the road and thinking. Then the rain suddenly falls and Kazumi run fast.

It was morning. Kazumi is waiting Shino as his daily routine. Shino always waiting in Kazumi's apartment to walk together to university. But Shino didn't come.

When Kazumi reached the room, he saw Shino already there talking to his friends. Shino saw Kazumi. Kazumi search for a sit. The class starts.

When the break time comes Kazumi went to where Shino.

"... Shino.."
".. Hmm, Kazumi? What's wrong?"
"N-Nothing.. Then I'll go now.." Kazumi left.

Shino look at Kazumi while he left.

At the door Kazumi meet Hiro and Hiro look at him while entering the room.

When the next class start. Kazumi didn't attend his next class. Shino is looking in his surroundings and he cant find Kazumi. They start the class.

It was late, Shino passed by in Kazumi's apartment. There's no light in Kazumi's apartment and he thought that Kazumi is not there. Shino left already and went back home.

Kazumi is in his apartment since afternoon lying in his bed..

Shino came back home and straight in his room. He remember what Hiro said to him.

「I know him since high school. Actually he dont know me. But I am his sempai's friend in his high school days. That guy Kazumi dont like to deal other people but my friend, his sempai, he seduced him. And my friend has a girlfriend that time. He ruined there relationship.. But few months later they reunited.」

"I never thought he will do that.. But its bad to avoid him like this. I guess I must talk to him tomorrow." Shino utter to himself.

When the morning comes.. Shino is waiting to Kazumi's apartment. But no Kazumi coming outside. He tried to call Kazumi but his phone is off. Shino thought that Kazumi might be in the university already.

When he reached the university, people in the room..

"Is that true that Ito Kazumi quit university?"
"Eh? Kazumi quit the university?"
"Yes, yes."

Shino was shocked in what he heard and interrupt with there conversation.

"Is still Kazumi is still here in university?" he asked.
"... Eh? I saw him lately in the lounge but I dont -"

Shino run immediately. He search for Kazumi but he cant find him. He skip his lesson and went in his apartment. He saw a guy in Kazumi's door.

"K-Kazumi!" he grab his hand

The guy look at him.

"Who are you?"
"Ah. Sorry." Shino apologized for mistaken him.
"You said Kazumi, right?"
"Ah, yes. You know where is he?"
"... Why do you know him?"
"Ah.. I am his friend."

The guy laugh at Shino.

"Are you joking?!" he said.
"Huh?!"
"That guy dont have a friend. How can you be his friend?"

Shino got pissed off and grab his clothes.

"Hey! Hey! Pull out your hands in my clothes."
"Dont joke around. I am telling the truth!"
"Telling the truth? What? That you are friend of Kazumi?"
"... Yes!" he removed his hand in his clothes.

This guy fixing his clothes and look at Shino. Shino noticed that he really looks a like to Kazumi.

"Who are you?" Shino asked.
"... I am his-" he saw Kazumi came back.

Suddenly Kazumi came.

"... Shino.."

Shino look back and he saw Kazumi.

Its been three weeks when I meet this guy named Tatsuya Shino. He asked me to become one of his friend and without realizing it I became closed to him. We share email address and phone number too.

Everyday he came to my apartment and we always walk together to university. I feel happy when I am with him. Its was too nostalgic for me.

"Later, at lunch where should we eat?" Shino asked Kazumi.
".. Where do you want?"
"Hmm.. Since our class this afternoon is at 2 pm right? We still have time so why dont we eat outside?"
"Sure.."

Shino stare at me.

"W-What? Is there something in my face?" Kazumi asked in shocked.
"Nope. I just noticed you dont smile."
"Eh?"
"You know I saw your face is cute. So if you smile I guess you will be more cuter than I thought."
"W-What are you saying?!" Kazumi is blushing.
"I am telling the truth."

When I saw Shino's serious face when he said that my heart suddenly throb.

It was lunch time and we eat outside. Shino keeps on talking while me I am just listening to what he is saying. He is telling about his past. Shino suddenly stop talking and stare at me.

"Kazumi.. I keep on talking here but all you do is to listening."
"S-Sorry.."
"Try to talk more y'know.. Hmm, then why dont you tell about your past too?"

I was shocked when he said that..

"... Only not my past.." Kazumi whispered.
"Hmm.. Why?"
"Why? I dont want to talk about it."

Shino stare at me but I cant look to his eyes.. I am avoiding his sight to me.

"Ok.. Then I wont force you. Want to go somewhere? We still have time though.."
"... Ah, anywhere is fine."

We went somewhere to spend our break time at university. We went back at the university.

When we enter the room, Shino's friend came in where we are.

"Shino!" Shino's friend called him.
"Yo. Hiro."

This guy look at me fiercely.. I dont know why but I have my guess..

"Shino, can we talk?" Hiro asked.
"Sure.."
"But not here.."
"Ok.. Kazumi I'll be back."
".. Ah."

I was left behind. I dont know what are they talking about but I have a feeling about this.

"When did you become friend with that guy?" Hiro asked.
"That guy? You mean Kazumi?"
"Yeah. He dont like associate to other you know."
"I know."
"You must stop.. I know him since high school.. So you must stop being friendly to him.."
"You know him since high school?"
"Yeah. But he dont know me.."

I want to know what are they talking. I am just looking at them since they looking at me. And I know I am the one they're talking..

"I am telling the truth.. Its better not to get along to him.." Hiro added.

It was years ago when I graduated in high school and I am now a working student. I am the kind of person who dont deal with the society and I like being alone.

But it was happened past few days when I met this guy...

"I never thought this will be too many people in fast food in this time.." I thought to myself while searching for a table.

When I saw a table, this guy picked the table too...

"Ah.. You can have the table." I said to him and I leave.
"... Wait!" He grab my clothes.

I look back to him..

"Sorry. We can share the table since its for 3 persons.." He smiled.

I cant refuse to his offer but share the table with him. It was too awkward. I dont know how to deal with people and I just keep silent while eating, but...

"Sorry, if I force you to sit here.." he apologize.
"... Its fine, though no table left to place with."

He is looking at me while I am eating and its too awkward for me and cant eat properly.

"By the way, what's your name?" He asked.
"Hmm?" I look straight to his eyes.
"S-Sorry never mind."
"Kazumi.. Ito Kazumi."

He look at me straight. He laugh..

"I thought you would not going to tell your name.. Nice to meet you Kazumi, I'm Tatsuya Shino.."

Shino smile gentle at me..

It was morning and I have class at nine. I left the apartment early and came at school early. I went in the library to borrow some books to read for my subjects. Five minutes before the class start and I went in the room.

I always sat in front of the board since people came inside using the back door and I cant deal with them by greetings..

Someone sat beside me and I move aside a bit and this guy look at me..

"... Kazumi?"

I was surprised when he called my name and look at him. It was Shino who called my name.

"I didn't know we are in the same class.." he said with cheerful voice.

I cant reply but hear people looking and talking about me..

"Is that you who always sitting in front?" Shino asked.
"... Ah."
"That's why I didn't recognized you. Since no place to sit, I sit here in front."

Shino keeps on talking to me but I just ignore him. I heard people at back whispering.. I was safe when the professor came..

I leave after that class, and went in a quiet place in the campus.

"That was too bad.." Kazumi make a big sigh.

I saw a shadow down in me and I thought it was the cloud and I look up I saw Shino in front of me standing. He gave me a surprised.

"Yo! What are you doing here?" he asked.
"... Nothing."
"Eh?" Shino sat beside Kazumi.

I look at him playing the grass and I look up the sky. Shino look at me.

"Are you always alone?"

I was surprised to his question and look at him.

"Why do you asked?"
"Why? Hmm. I just noticed it lately when I am talking to you at room."

I never thought that this guy will recognized it too..

"But.. Its better to be alone just for a moment. But try to associate with the others too and that will change your mood." Shino said while looking at Kazumi's eyes.
".. I dont have time dealing with others."
"I see.. Then why dont you try to hang out with me?"
"Huh?"
"I will accompany you.. I mean I want to become your friend." Shino smile at me gently.

I am speechless and dont know what to answer. But.. I am happy to hear that.

"You dont like?"
"N-No."
"Yay! Then for now on I will be your friend." Shino smile.

I was happy.. But I am scared that it might be happen again the same in years ago..
